Summary:

Job Summary: 


Responsible for the daily and weekly general maintenance of assigned irrigation equipment. This position requires a good understanding of water management principles and irrigation systems.


Their duties and responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and testing irrigation systems to identify and resolve problems

  • Installing and programming irrigation controllers, timers, and rain sensors

  • Repairing or replacing broken or damaged parts of irrigation systems, including heads, valves, pipes, and timers

  • Regularly checking system water pressure and adjust as necessary

  • Performing routine maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure efficient operation

  • Designing and planning irrigation layouts as per the landscape needs

  • Keeping inventory of irrigation supplies and parts

  • Adhering to safety regulations and standards while working

  • Recommending upgrades or modifications to improve system efficiency

  • Documenting all maintenance and repair services performed, and reporting any larger issues to a supervisor or management

  • Performs preventative maintenance to correct performance including elevation adjustments of heads, valves and valve boxes

  • Ability to create and read site map-colored charts/legends is a plus

Requirements: 

  • Two full-time years (24 months) of progressively responsible grounds irrigation care and maintenance work in a golf course, municipal, commercial or parks setting

  • Must have a current valid State of California driver’s license


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the general game of golf is helpful.

  • Must be able to operate trucks and motorized equipment necessary for golf course maintenance and have the ability to work independently.

  • Requires ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.


Working Conditions

  • May be indoor or outdoor setting depending on service area

  • Varied weather conditions are expected

  • Will work near mechanical equipment and hot surfaces

  • Will work with aerosol and other cleaning chemicals.


Work Availability - Varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
