We know our journey is only achievable by having a great team who shares ideas, tries new things, and learns as we go.

Who you are:

Semios is seeking an innovative and results-driven Irrigation Specialist to help develop and drive our new Irrigation Consulting Services, while continuing to provide agronomic expertise to our customers. This role will be instrumental in developing and launching a new water management service for growers while continuing to offer technical support and building strong relationships with customers.

As a subject matter expert in water management and agronomy, you will work closely with our agronomy and irrigation teams to develop the product offering, educate customers, and create value-added solutions to help them optimize crop production and water use. This role will also provide consulting and expertise in water management until the service is fully operational with clients.

What you will do:

Water Management Services Development

  • Collaborate with the Water and Nutrients Product Manager to lead the design and launch of a new irrigation consulting service.
  • Develop strategies for the service, including key features, customer engagement, and value proposition.
  • Gather market feedback and adapt the service to better meet grower needs.
  • Lead the transition of the water management service from development to full customer implementation.

Agronomy and Grower Relations

  • Serve as a key resource for growers, providing expert advice on irrigation, water conservation, and crop management.
  • Act as a liaison between the grower community and Semios, building relationships and maintaining strong communication with key accounts.
  • Support in-field activities such as crop monitoring, data collection, and assessing customer needs for irrigation and agronomy solutions.

Consulting and Customer Engagement

  • Educate potential and current customers on best practices in water management and agronomy, with a focus on Semios products and services.
  • Conduct field visits, trials, and demonstrations to showcase water management and irrigation technologies.
  • Provide in-season support to customers, offering advice and adjustments to irrigation strategies to optimize crop yield and quality.

Product and Market Expertise

  • Gain a deep understanding of Semiosโ€™s agronomy and irrigation solutions and provide training to internal teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in water management and crop production.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales and product teams to enhance service offerings and expand our customer base.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management teams to shape business strategies for Water Management Services.
  • Participate in the development of after-action reports, performance reviews, and strategic goals.
  • Provide input into product development based on market and customer feedback.
  • Regularly report to senior management on project progress, customer feedback, and business results.

Team Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with the Interim VP of Sales, NA and Water & Nutrients Product Manager to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Once Irrigation Consulting Services is launched, act as a team leader in the launch and implementation, mentoring junior staff, and supporting the overall success of the team.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to ensure alignment of agronomy and water management services.

Requirements

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, environmental science, water resource management, or a related field preferred. Or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years in agronomic consulting, water resource management, irrigation systems, or a related technical support role in agriculture
  • CCA certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • A valid drivers license and the ability to travel 50% of the time

Skills

  • Expertise in water management, irrigation systems, and agronomy practices
  • Experience working with growers and building relationships within the agricultural sector
  • Strong communication, presentation, and consulting skills
  • Proven ability to lead and support the development of new services or products
  • Proficiency with data analysis, problem-solving, and solution implementation
  • Ability to work independently

Salary range: $85,000 to $95,000 USD per year

We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.

The position will require frequent travel to customer sites, company locations, or industry events. While performing remote work, employees are expected to maintain a home workspace that is free from distractions and conducive to productive work. The noise level in both the office and remote settings is generally moderate.
