Job description

Job Title: Ironworker

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $25-$28 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of ironworking tasks including but not limited to erecting structural steel, installing precast concrete panels, and assembling metal buildings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, and fabricate metal components.
  • Operate machinery such as cranes and hoists to position and lift steel components into place.
  • Install rigging systems and hoisting equipment to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the construction team to complete projects on schedule and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Ironworker.
  • Proficiency in metal building erection and rigging operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of steel construction methods and materials.
