Overview
Responsible for ensuring the project’s operations and site leaders adhere to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) compliance requirements in regards to Domestic Content. Work closely with the compliance team, vendors, and IRA Auditors to manage IRA compliance. The Compliance Specialist will provide audit information to management by researching and analyzing data, preparing reports, and enforcing corrective action where necessary.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Communicate MasTec Renewables guidance and standards to subcontractors regarding Domestic Content

  • Maintain tracking and reporting spreadsheets needed for each project to manage IRA compliance and ensure timely payment of company contracts

  • Partner with the Apprenticeship team as needed

  • Develop and improve the processes with the accounting team, procurement and operations to build efficiency, improved communication and overall improvement of the invoicing and payment process

  • Lead meetings with stakeholders to ensure IRA Compliance has alignment across the company

  • Develop processes and systems with the compliance manager for acquiring and analyzing data related to procurement life cycle that will improve procurement performance and provide feedback to operations

  • Manage downstream contract requirements related to prime contract domestic content certifications

  • Partner with Legal to understand Mastec Renewables interpretation and guidance of IRA policies

  • Build FAQ and log of Mastec Renewables IRA Domestic Content standards for project teams

  • Stay up to date with IRA guidance

  • Support the Mastec Renewables IRA committee objectives and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Coordinate subcontractor compliance with IRA guidance and determine if hold on payment is needed for non-compliance

  • Partner with Legal to resolve subcontractor compliance issues

  • Share feedback to commercial team regarding vendor compliance for future project reference and understanding

  • Keep updated list of subcontractors and scope of responsibilities by project site

  • Develop constant and consistent communication with site teams regarding subcontractor list

  • Work with Analytics team to build and modify Power BI dashboards and reporting

  • Work with all subcontractors to get accurate payroll and apprenticeship records

  • Prepare and maintain documentation to support internal audits

  • Share inaccuracies to correct leaders when auditing and reviewing records that are not in compliance

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely audit information is reported to site leaders or client as requested

  • Participate in internal management meetings, sharing updates, best practices and lessons learned when necessary

  • Maintain knowledge and stay up to date on compliance and regulatory matters

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Three years’ relevant experience preferably in Procurement or with contracts
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Previous InEight experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be highly organized and able to multi-task
