Description
Choate Rosemary Hall seeks an Arts Center Box Office Assistant and Building Monitor for immediate hire and beyond into the 2025-26 academic year.
This is a non-benefits eligible, part-time position that runs during the school year, with occasional events taking place over the summer. The required hours include evening and weekend assignments throughout the school year.
Job duties include:
• Ensuring a safe environment in which students are engaged in artistic practice, rehearsals, arts club activities, and more.
• Walking through the various spaces to maintain a supportive presence and an awareness of building use and occupancy.
• Monitoring the use of practice rooms in the PMAC, Colony Hall, and any temporary Arts Center spaces, as well as monitoring the building during external rentals.
• Sweeping through all spaces at the end of the shift to ensure all students and guests have exited at closing time or at the end of an event.
• Completing an end-of-shift report
• Watering the art gallery plants weekly.
• Monitor the humidity levels on pianos in the PMAC and Colony Hall and water them as needed.
• Generate facility work orders and coordinate with maintenance staff to address operational or structural issues if necessary.
• Assisting with front-of-house duties for student productions, concerts, recitals, and guest artist events as needed throughout the academic year.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Must 21 years of age or older.
• CPR certification is required; if you're not certified, training is provided.
• High School diploma required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, good judgment, high energy, and ability to work as a team member.
• Must be able to ascend/descend six flights of stairs with frequency.
• Familiar with Apple devices to answer calls from students to reserve a practice room and to read updates and announcements on an iPad.
• Previous experience working with students, preferably adolescents.
• Previous experience in residential academic settings preferred.
• Familiarity with the performing arts field is preferred.
