The Candidate will design, install, configure and support the customer's WAN and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system.   The candidate will maintain the network hardware and software as well as monitor the network to ensure network availability to all system users. The candidate will perform the necessary maintenance to support network availability.   The candidate will support the design, design documentation, factory testing and network integration of IP\/MPLS based LAN\/WAN network infrastructure.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

General tasks include developing MPLS network architecture, assessing network management architecture, documenting the architecture, developing test plans, and conducting the testing effort.   The candidate will be responsible for installations, upgrades, support and problem resolution for UNIX and Windows based operating systems. Candidate must have knowledge of ONS (Optical networking services).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

This position is for a 12 hour shift (6PM to 6AM, 3\/4 days per week, including weekends and holidays). Work will include supporting a telephone and trouble ticket oriented "Service Desk" in support of a customer's mission oriented IT infrastructure. Provide Tier 1 support of Network and Server Infrastructure, and initial troubleshooting on LAN & WAN voice and data telecommunications plus the supporting applications and services.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Candidate will provide Tier 1 troubleshooting and problem solving using on\-the\-job experience, documentation (SOPs), knowledge bases, and deployed network and IT management tools. Candidate will serve as liasion between the end users \/ customers and Sr. technical staff if problems are escalated. In addition to service desk related work actitivies, the candidate may be requested to process routine customer work orders (adding routes, adding system accounts, etc.).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Current and active TS\/SCI clearance with a polygraph <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • 10+ years' experience as a Network Engineer <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • Experience with Optical networking (ONS)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • UNIX (Linux, Solaris, BSD) administration experience <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Remote network and server administration experience <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Experience designing and implementing VPNs <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
