Job description:
As an IP Network Configuration Engineer Your responsibilities will include:
The selected candidate will Support TDM to IP network migrations for the defense standard and collaborate with internal and external teams, work independently on projects from start to finish, including developing network designs based upon user requirements, creating network diagrams using Visio, configuring network equipment, and full implementation follow-through and documentation of requirements.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Engineering customized configurations for IP networking equipment based on customer requirements.
• Developing and maintaining Enterprise IP Addressing plans.
• Deploying planned configuration changes to support site or standards modifications.
• Maintaining accurate network documentation and homing plans.
• Providing 2nd level support to IP service activation teams.
• Collaborating with IP Engineers to create and maintain configuration baselines of network equipment.
This is a 12-month, Contract with possible hire opportunity.
Clearance: Public Trust Clearance
Ideal candidate must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ associate's degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Networking, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of IP network configurations.
  • Intermediate level (CCNA) of experience with IP, TDM and Carrier Ethernet WAN access technologies.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience creating/maintaining IP address plans along with router and switch baseline configurations.
  • Demonstrated ability of engineering peering relationships based on BGP, OSPF and HSRP across internetworked IP network devices.
  • Excellent presentation, documentation, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications and Visio.

Nice to have skills:
  • Domain knowledge of data protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, HSRP, IS-IS, LDP, PIM, MSDP, and Ethernet.
  • Automation scripting experience (e.g. Python).
  • Cisco networking certifications (CCNP).

Pay Range: $37 - $39 per hour.
