Job description

Title: IP Engineer IV

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

Position Overview:

The IP Engineer serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, integration, and sustainment of complex network and system architectures. This role provides systems engineering, network operations, and technical oversight across the full system lifecycle in support of mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to develop system requirements and specifications
  • Lead system design, development, integration, and implementation activities
  • Provide technical leadership across systems engineering lifecycle, including planning, testing, and deployment
  • Develop system architecture documentation, engineering plans, and integration/test strategies
  • Guide stakeholders on requirements, alternatives, and feasibility assessments
  • Ensure technical integrity of deliverables and resolve complex system and interface issues
  • Design and support enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN environments and associated technologies
  • Perform network configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Support system upgrades, maintenance, and incident response, including root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with government and program stakeholders on technical issues, risks, and solutions
  • Supervise technical staff and support high-risk, complex programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in a technical discipline; an additional 4 years of may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related experience
  • Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT II and Microsoft Certified Professional (or equivalent) certification
  • Strong systems engineering experience, including requirements analysis, system architecture, integration, testing, and lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in IP networking fundamentals (IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, routing, switching) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and managing LAN/WAN infrastructure, VLANs, VPNs, and segmentation
  • Familiarity with network platforms and tools (e.g., Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, SolarWinds)
  • Knowledge of network monitoring, performance analysis, and incident response processes
  • Understanding of network security fundamentals and technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) and exposure to software-defined networking (SDN) preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred
  • Experience working in a DoD or IC environment
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
