Job DescriptionRole

Cognizant is hiring an IoT Engineer to work on IoT-specific applications and products, focusing on development, testing, and Level 3 production support. The role involves building and validating IoT solutions for functionality, scale, and performance while collaborating with business stakeholders to define requirements and system configurations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 3 production support for IoT applications, troubleshooting and resolving medium to complex technical issues.
  • Develop, test, and validate IoT product functionality, scalability, and performance using emerging technologies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop use cases and diagrams, and generate processes.
  • Define application requirements including integration, security, and system configurations.
  • Work within an onsite–offshore delivery model and collaborate with distributed teams.
RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Exposure to Vibe Coding and AI tools (examples cited: CoPilot, Claude, Codex).
Technical Qualifications
  • Basic programming experience in one or more: C, C++, C#, Java, Python.
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming, data structures, operating system concepts, and design patterns.
  • Experience or exposure to IoT and cloud platforms (examples: Azure, Google Cloud, AWS).
  • Exposure to relational databases such as SQL and MySQL.
  • Ability to develop algorithms and familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
Location & Start Date
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to one of several U.S. office locations (examples listed in posting). Final assignment depends on business need and availability.
  • Start cohorts are scheduled for July and September 2026.
  • Annual salary listed at $65,000 (depends on experience and qualifications).
  • Eligible for discretionary annual incentive program (performance-based).
