We are looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious individual with strong leadership skills to join our Montreal plant as an Automation and Controls Technician, reporting to the Maintenance Area Supervisor. Why join Sanimax Permanent full-time position Salary: $41/hour Comprehensive group insurance plan Telemedicine services Pension plan with employer contributions Reimbursement for gym memberships and physical activities On-site gym On-the-job training provided Schedule Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, rotating between: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Responsibilities Support the electrical maintenance team and plant operations in resolving issues that impact production line efficiency. Respond to service calls. Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting. Source parts; perform installation, replacement, and commissioning activities. Access PLC programs and make modifications as required. Participate in the maintenance of the plant’s electrical and control equipment. Inspect, verify, clean, and repair equipment. Inspect, verify, and calibrate instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.). Analyze production downtime and propose improvement solutions for electrical and control equipment. Use the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to record work performed, labor time, and parts used. Participate in the maintenance of low-voltage electrical distribution equipment. Requirements College diploma in Industrial Electronics or Electromechanics, with a strong interest in PLCs. Hold a non-construction electrician license (License C or CE, or currently in the process of obtaining it). 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation, automation, process control, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Rockwell automation equipment (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, SLC500). Experience configuring and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs). Knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution equipment (600V), including switchgear, MCCs, and distribution panels. Experience with ABB and Rockwell VFDs is considered an asset. Experience with industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, IO-Link, HART) is an asset. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to work under pressure. Functional English. Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations related to the role, with the ability to ensure compliance with established standards.
