Accountant
Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Lee County MS area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team! This customer is offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing! This is a direct hire opportunity.
Staff Accountant Job Summary:
• Pay: Salaried
• Shifts Available:
o 1st shift Monday- Friday 8am-5pm (over time may be required)
  • Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, account coding, and recording financial transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing reconciliations, assisting with bank reporting, and analyzing financial variances.
  • Review daily production reports to monitor labor expenses, inventory levels, and material usage, ensuring accuracy and cost control.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and operating procedures while providing support during internal and external audit processes.
  • Reconcile fixed asset records and track capital expenditure projects from initiation through completion.
  • Research and resolve customer billing discrepancies and invoice deduction issues.
  • Prepare and submit required annual local tax documentation and filings.
  • Verify inventory accuracy through cycle count audits and investigate discrepancies to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. -required
  • Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience, within a manufacturing environment. -preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of accounting software, or general ledger applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.
