Job description

Title: LAN/WAN Engineering Subject Matter Expert IV - Cloud Solution Architect Location: Alexandria, VA Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph Responsibilities: * Serve as a technical expert, providing leadership and direction on executive-level project teams, offering expertise in cloud information systems architecture, telecommunications systems design, cloud implementation, and integration
* Provide guidance and expert advice into exceptionally complex cloud and infrastructure problems, influencing business decisions and ensuring alignment with best practices in emerging technologies
* Act as a technical consultant to multiple projects, advising on the latest cloud trends, architectures, and best practices
* Lead highly specialized and technical tasks, working with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, data centers, and distributed systems
* Work closely with contract management and government personnel to ensure problem definitions and proposed solutions meet the customer's needs
* Manage complex, high-risk programs, ensuring the projects align with business objectives, timelines, and budgets
* Coordinate with assigned technical teams, including team leads, to develop state-of-the-art techniques for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting highly complex cloud-based hardware and software systems
* Design and develop complex cloud system architectures and hardware concepts, aligning requirements with project goals
* Direct the resolution of complex hardware/software interface issues while providing guidance on emerging cloud technologies
* Lead the development of network architecture specifications, technical documentation, and system integration strategies
* Provide technical leadership throughout the development, engineering, integration, and testing phases of cloud-based systems. Ensure proper requirements elicitation, systems analysis, and functional allocation
* Conduct technical/non-technical assessments and manage system performance optimization, focusing on non-functional areas such as security, scalability, and cost-efficiency
* Conduct end-to-end system trade analyses, optimizing system operations and performance over the full lifecycle
* Provide expertise in cloud architecture, design, and implementation, with a strong background in managing complex cloud and infrastructure programs
* Demonstrate experience in the telecommunications and information systems domain, particularly in cloud and networking systems
* Demonstrate ability to perform advanced understanding of hardware/software integration, cloud architectures, and system troubleshooting
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technologies and how they impact cloud architectures and systems
* Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives and project teams
* Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify solutions for highly complex cloud-based challenges
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Requirements: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to the position; an additional 4 years of may be substituted in lieu of a degree * Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in addition to education level * Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNP (or equivalent) certifications * Experience working in a DoD or Intelligence Community Environment desired * Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph Equal Opportunity Employer/Veteran/Disabled
