About the Opportunity

The HT Group is partnering with a highly regarded independent wealth management firm to find an AVP of Investor & Trading Operations. This is a unique opportunity to step into a highly visible role supporting the firm's investment platform, trading operations, and data infrastructure.

This position is ideal for someone who is an active trader today and enjoys balancing hands-on trading responsibilities with broader operational ownership. You'll serve as the firm's primary trading operations resource while helping oversee critical investment platforms, operational workflows, reporting, and data integrity across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily trading operations and serve as the primary point of contact for trade execution activities.
  • Prepare, validate, and monitor trade requests while supporting trade reconciliation and issue resolution.
  • Review cash positions, account restrictions, model allocations, and portfolio readiness.
  • Help maintain operational controls and support pre- and post-trade validation processes.
  • Support alternative investment operations including capital calls, distributions, valuations, and subscription workflows.
  • Assist with billing readiness, reconciliation, and account configuration.
  • Maintain data integrity across CRM, portfolio management, and reporting platforms.
  • Support client reporting, performance validation, and investment reporting workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with advisors, custodians, technology partners, and cross-functional teams to enhance platform operations.

Qualifications Required

  • 5+ years of experience in investment operations, trading operations, product operations, or platform operations.
  • Current hands-on experience supporting or executing trades within a live trading environment.
  • Experience with portfolio models and investment operations workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with institutional trading or portfolio management platforms such as:
    • RedBlack
    • Black Diamond
    • Charles River
    • Eze
    • Orion
    • Moxy
    • Envestnet
  • Alternative investment operations experience.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
  • Familiarity with portfolio reporting platforms (Addepar preferred).
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or workflow automation tools.
  • Experience supporting billing, performance reporting, or investment data management.
