Job description

Position Summary

The Investment Solutions Consultant is a client-facing sales and consulting role responsible for driving platform growth, supporting advisor relationships, and serving as the primary investment reference for affiliated and prospective independent RIA teams. This individual must possess deep fluency across the firmโ€™s full investment offering โ€” from managed solutions and alternatives to direct RIA business and annuities โ€” and translate that knowledge into actionable guidance for advisors at every stage of their relationship with the firm.

The role sits at the intersection of sales, investment consulting, and transition support, requiring a confident communicator who can articulate platform value, map complex books of business, and build trust with advisors navigating major business decisions. The right candidate will operate as a trusted advisor to affiliated RIAs โ€” proactively identifying opportunities to deepen engagement, educating advisors on the full scope of the firmโ€™s capabilities, and converting those interactions into measurable platform adoption and AUM capture. This role is โ€œarchitecture neutral.โ€ The advocateโ€™s job is to match the right solution to the advisor and business, not push volume through a preferred channel.

Location: New Orleans candidates preferred, but remote candidates will be considered as well.

Key Responsibilities

1. Investment Consulting & Advisor Relationships

  • Serve as the primary investment solutions resource for affiliated RIA advisors โ€” answering platform questions, making product recommendations, and providing ongoing education.
  • Develop deep fluency across the full investment offering, including:
  • Unified Managed Account (UMA) solutions
  • SMA / third-party manager platforms
  • Alternatives, annuities, and direct RIA business
  • UHNW Bridge solutions and Partner Referral Programs (PRP)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic advocates, internal Portfolio Managers and strategic partners.
  • Help existing advisors identify and adopt solutions aligned with their clientsโ€™ needs and their own business economics.

2. Sales & Platform Growth

  • Actively support recruiting efforts by participating in home office visits, virtual meetings, and in-person engagements with prospective advisor teams.
  • Facilitate solution mapping for committed recruits โ€” translating the firmโ€™s platform into a clear business model story.
  • Understand how, when, and where to position specific solutions to drive advisor satisfaction.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitor offerings, industry trends, and evolving RIA landscape dynamics.

3. RIA Transition Support

  • Own investment solutions onboarding for incoming advisor teams: map existing books of business to platform solutions and lead transition planning discussions for the investment team.
  • Educate incoming teams on cost structures, platform benefits, P&L implications, and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate enrollment and setup with trading operations and investment ops teams.
  • Act as the primary solutions contact for new teams from commitment through handoff to standard operations.

4. Content, Narrative & Platform Marketing

  • Own the development and ongoing maintenance of platform materials and investment content โ€” ensuring messaging is current, accurate, and positioned to drive advisor adoption.
  • Lead the creation of presentations and supporting materials for advisor meetings, recruiting engagements, and transition discussions โ€” translating complex platform capabilities into a clear and compelling value story.
  • Drive the content strategy for transition mapping deliverables, ensuring incoming teams receive tailored, high-quality materials that accelerate onboarding and reinforce the platformโ€™s value proposition.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, preferably within an RIA, broker-dealer, TAMP, or investment platform environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of RIA custodians (Fidelity, Schwab, Raymond James, Goldman Sachs, LPL Financial) and their workflows.
  • Familiarity with SMA platforms (e.g., SmartX, Vise), TAMPs (e.g., Assetmark, Envestnet, SEI) and OMS platforms (Orion, Black Diamond, Tamarac)
  • Building advisor intelligence database: CRM, activity logs, tracking and identification of adoption/gaps.
  • Strong communication skills โ€” written, verbal, and in-person presentation.
  • Travel while representing the firm, platform, and our AdvisorFirst culture across advisor offices, firm and industry events, and recruitment meetings.

Preferred

  • Series 65 or 66 license (or active willingness to obtain).
  • Preferred advanced designation such as CFA, CIMA, CFP, ChFC or others
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint/Prezi, AI, and Adobe tools.
  • Experience supporting or leading advisor transitions or onboarding programs.
  • Familiarity with multi-custodial investment platforms and complex book-of-business mapping.
