About the Role

THEROLE

We are seeking an Equity Research Associate (RA) to join our Global Industry Research Industrials Team in Boston. In this role, you'll work closely with a senior Global Industry Analyst to support coverage ofdiversified Industrials.The ideal candidate is a selfdirected, hardworking team player with a strong interest incyclical andindustrialsectorsand the investment management industry.

Responsibilities for this position will include the following:

  • Maintaining the integrity of industry and comparative valuation models;
  • Performing continuous due diligence onindustrialscompanies spanning the breadth of the sector;
  • Building and maintaining company financial models on prospective investments;
  • Completing complex analytical projects under tight time constraints;
  • Staying abreast of relevantcompany and industry materials and communications;
  • Working to identify emerging research trends and novel and investable developments;
  • Maintain risk models for long-onlyandlong/shortportfolios.

The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to a highly collaborative investment environment and will build strong,trusting relationships internally with colleagues across theindustrialsteam. The ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) and contribute to an open investment dialogue is required.
  • Growth mindset -The flexibility and openness to continue learning, evolving, and growing as a Research Associate is important. The RA will have a global perspective and creative approach for analyzing investment opportunities inindustrialsequities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional qualifications and characteristicsinclude:

  • A minimum of5years ofpreviousinvestment experience, ideally within a Long/Short (L/S) framework. Equally strong applicants with related experience in the broader financial services space will also be considered.
  • An understanding of risk and risk-based tools beneficial;
  • Experience covering the industrials sector in sell-side equity research, investment banking, private equity, or buy-side roles.
  • Financial modeling ability;
  • Aptitude for building investment science skill set through interest in the intersection of science and investing;
  • Strong data and technology skills, including experience using platforms and tools to screen, rank, and manage large stock universes.
  • Sound judgment, strong work ethic and highest personal and professional integrity;
  • Demonstrated analytical ability;
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in the face of uncertainty;
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize time well;
  • Strict attention to detail;
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal; and
  • Superior academic credentials and track record, an undergraduate degree is required; progress with CFA/CAIA levels is additive.

The base salary range for this position is:

USD 90,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salaryis only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
