Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting with investment accounting and reporting analysis for HCSC and subsidiary entities. Applies both Statutory and GAAP investment bases of accounting for all entities of the HCSC organization and prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports related to investment operations. Participates in the research and writing of white papers relating to accounting and reporting issues. Additionally, serves as mentor to Junior team members, and assists them on investment accounting and reporting issues that occur in the normal course of operations.
Required Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field
* Minimum 4 years of accounting, auditing or finance experience
* Experience in reporting for investments and analysis of results
* Clear and concise interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* PC skills and experience to include spreadsheet software
Preferred Job Qualifications:
* Certified Public Accountant designation
* Investment accounting and reporting experience with an insurance company
* Knowledge and ability to apply statutory, GAAP and investment accounting principles and regulations
* Experience with Clearwater or similar insurance investment accounting sub-ledger system
* Knowledge of complex investment vehicles
* Experience with financial system analysis and developing investment reports
* Leadership and Project Management skills
* Experience researching, analyzing, and communicating on accounting, regulatory, securities and investment rules and principles
* Experience managing shifting priorities in a dynamic business environment
