Zevenbergen Capital Investments LLC (ZCI) is a forward-thinking, boutique, investment advisory firm specializing in growth equity investing built on a foundation of fundamental, bottom-up research. We have nearly 40 years of experience serving both institutional and individual clients across the US and are looking to add a top-quality individual to join our team in Edmonds, Washington.

Opportunity:

We are looking for a motivated Operations Associate to join our Operations team. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and is an essential part of ensuring we deliver the highest quality service to ZCI’s clients.

The ideal candidate will be entrusted with a high level of responsibility and should welcome challenges, enjoy an interesting and dynamic workflow, embrace a fast-paced environment, be resourceful and able to work independently, possess outstanding project management skills and be able to communicate effectively with all members of the ZCI team, as well as clients and outside vendors. In joining a small firm, this candidate must be able to take on a variety of tasks and projects that often involve multiple functional teams. They will gain broad exposure across investment operations, compliance, trading, and client service. We are looking for candidates who want to build a long-term career path within ZCI as the firm continues to grow.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Operational support that includes:

 

Portfolio Account Maintenance

  • Monitor client accounts and transaction activity for updates and necessary changes
  • Ensure equity trades/cash flows are properly reflected in firm’s portfolio accounting system
  • Ensure custody accounts are reconciled to the firm’s portfolio accounting system

Trade Settlement

  • Effectively communicate with brokers and custodians regarding trade settlement issues
  • Resolve discrepancies and report significant cash flows to portfolio managers with utmost sensitivity to timing and accuracy
  • Prepare and send daily trade files to brokers/custodians
  • Monitor and update model portfolio investment platforms

Compliance Support

  • As needed, assist in compiling/auditing/testing of operational systems and processes to help confirm/maintain compliance with company and industry policies
  • Manage and track proxy voting done on behalf of advisory clients
  • Research and provide info as needed for class action litigation potentially impacting clients

 

Minimum Requirements for Consideration

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Two years experience in operational role within financial services industry
  • Proactive approach, able to complete multiple directives and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong client-service orientation and business ethics
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills, resourceful and inquisitive
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with confidence to present ideas at all levels of the organization and externally to clients and vendors
  • Excellent familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Desirable Skills and Experiences

  • Experience in wealth management, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Series 65 license
  • Mutual Fund administration and operations
  • Technical experience with SS&C Advent Software Suite (APX, Moxy, DTCC, Black Diamond), Bloomberg, FactSet and the desire to master additional financial software programs
  • Experience with Salesforce and WordPress

 

Physical Requirements

  • Locally based, 4 days/week working from the office and 1 day/week remote work.
  • Willing to embrace pre- and/or post – NYSE trading work hours and travel, as needed.


Position Details

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 plus discretionary bonus potential
  • Paid time off: Vacation that increases with tenure, beginning at a rate of 15 days/year
  • Paid sick & holidays: 1 hour sick leave per 40 hours work and 10 holidays per year
