Job Description
The Team
The Corporate Strategy, Internal Consulting Office (ICO), and Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) teams sit within Invesco's Corporate Strategy and Finance Group and work together to shape firm-wide priorities, solve complex cross-functional challenges, and translate strategy into measurable objectives and goals. Corporate Strategy partners with executive leadership to define where Invesco will play and how it will win, leads strategic planning, and supports select strategic assessments. ICO provides rigorous analysis, operating model design, executive decision support, and end-to-end problem solving. ETO enables disciplined execution of major, multi-year transformations where complexity and execution risk are high.
Your Role
As a summer intern, you will be based in Corporate Strategy and gain balanced exposure across Corporate Strategy, ICO, and ETO. You will partner with team leaders, global business and functional partners, and senior stakeholders on work spanning strategy formulation, strategic planning, problem solving, transformation execution, and decision support. Your assignments will provide opportunities to contribute to initiatives that affect Invesco's clients, employees, operating model, and financial performance.
This role is ideal for students who want a broad view of how a global asset manager sets direction, makes enterprise decisions, solves complex problems, and executes change. Although Corporate Strategy will serve as your home base, your project portfolio and development experience will be intentionally balanced across all three teams.
What you'll do
  • Corporate Strategy: Support the development and execution of firm-wide strategy by contributing research, analysis, and insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • External Research: Investigate industry trends, competitive dynamics, market developments, and emerging technologies that may influence the firm's future direction.
  • Internal Analysis: Analyze data related to clients, products, regions, financial performance, and business operations to help the firm understand its performance, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Connect the Dots: Engage with stakeholders across the organization who either inform the strategy or are guided by it. Build an understanding of their priorities, initiatives, and perspectives to help ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Explore ideas, concepts, and business questions to identify implications, evaluate options, and recommend potential next steps.
  • Storytelling: Contribute to planning and decision-making by developing frameworks, presentations, and other executive-ready materials that communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Project Support: Assist with strategy projects and planning activities by organizing information, tracking progress, coordinating inputs, and helping drive workstreams forward.
  • Synthesis and Insight Generation: Distill large amounts of information into concise observations, key themes, and actionable insights for leadership discussions.
  • Executive Exposure: Support presentations, workshops, and planning sessions with senior leaders, gaining firsthand exposure to how strategic decisions are developed and executed.
  • Continuous Learning: Develop a broad understanding of the asset management industry, Invesco's business model, and the strategic challenges and opportunities facing the firm.
  • Internal Consulting Office: Help structure and solve complex enterprise challenges through data gathering, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and involvement in option development, and practical recommendations.
  • Contribute to operating model design, decision support, change management, and initiatives that require neutral facilitation and coordination across multiple teams.
  • Enterprise Transformation Office: Support transformation portfolio management and delivery, including dependency mapping, enterprise program planning and prioritization, dashboard monitoring, governance, and benefits tracking.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops; synthesize discussions, decisions, risks, and actions; and help teams turn strategic direction into executable plans.
  • Develop presentations for senior leaders and assist with business cases and financial models for strategic and transformation initiatives.
  • Use Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other internal tools to conduct analysis, document recommendations, track progress, and communicate insights clearly.
  • Bring new ideas, external perspectives, and innovative approaches to team tools, processes, and ways of working.
