Position Overview
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for supporting daily production operations by ensuring accurate inventory management and timely fulfillment of material needs. Key responsibilities include picking inventory for production jobs, printing and preparing labels, and performing regular cycle counts in both the production and shipping warehouses.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring lot traceability, and keeping production areas properly stocked to meet the demands of the production schedule. The label printing process, in particular, requires a high level of computer proficiency, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. Candidates should be comfortable working extensively with computer systems and troubleshooting minor technical issues as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor materials throughout the production cycle to ensure timely availability and flow
  • Accurately pick and stage inventory for production jobs in a timely and organized manner
  • Print and prepare production labels using in-house systems and printers, ensuring accuracy in lot numbers, expiration dates, and manufacturing dates
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity, including bin location, product identification, and lot traceability
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and report findings to the production scheduler on a daily and weekly basis
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, or damaged goods
  • Open containers and count or weigh materials to verify physical inventory against system records
  • Report any variances or product issues promptly to the appropriate team
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and warehouse operations

Qualifications
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to support decision-making
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment with a focus on inventory handling and inventory management systems
  • Familiarity with basic inventory control procedures, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation preferred
