About the Role
The Inventory Specialist is a specialized, detail-driven role responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring sustainable supply chain management within the dispensary.
This position reports directly to the Inventory Manager, with indirect supervision from the Assistant Dispensary Managers (ADMs) and Lead Dispensary Managers. This role requires availability to work a flexible and rotating schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Set or fixed schedules are not available for this position.
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for auditing inventory supply, identifying and rectifying discrepancies, managing storage systems, and communicating with internal teams to ensure operational continuity and compliance.
Candidates with specific experience in managing previous medical marijuana inventory will be considered highly competitive for this position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and reconcile physical inventory against system records
  • Identify, investigate, and rectify inventory discrepancies promptly
  • Oversee and manage inventory storage areas to ensure organization, compliance, and security
  • Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments for accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and maintain effective inventory management procedures
  • Monitor par levels and place restock orders to maintain sustainable supply levels
  • Communicate inventory needs and discrepancies to management and appropriate teams
  • Utilize management software systems (e.g., MJ Freeway or equivalent) to update and track inventory records
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts
  • Maintain compliance with all state regulations and company SOPs
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with dispensary operations to ensure product availability
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and audit-ready inventory environment
