Job description

About the Role:

The Kitter/Tool Crib Attendant plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by efficiently managing the distribution and inventory of tools, equipment, and materials required on the production floor. This position ensures that all tools and kits are properly maintained, organized, and readily available to meet the demands of various manufacturing processes. The attendant acts as a liaison between production teams and the tool crib, facilitating timely issuance and return of tools to minimize downtime and maintain workflow continuity. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and inventory control procedures are essential to prevent loss or damage of valuable assets. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall productivity and operational efficiency of the manufacturing facility by maintaining an organized and responsive tool management system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience with inventory management software or databases.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or tool crib operations.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to tool handling and storage.
  • Experience using barcode scanners and computerized inventory control systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to identify tool conditions and maintenance needs.
