We're looking for a hands-on Head Cook to run our kitchen day to day — owning the line, the menu, inventory, and ordering, while keeping food quality and consistency high. This role also helps fuel our social media by capturing photos of specials and standout dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Run the kitchen during service: prep, line setup, cooking, plating, and quality control
  • Manage inventory — track stock levels, set and maintain par levels, minimize waste and spoilage
  • Place orders with vendors and receive deliveries; verify quality, quantity, and pricing against invoices
  • Own the menu — execute existing dishes consistently and contribute ideas for specials and seasonal items
  • Take clear, appetizing photos of daily specials and featured dishes for social media and promotions
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and health-code compliance at all times
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff; help train new hires
  • Control food cost and portioning to hit margin targets

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a head/lead cook or kitchen manager in a bar & grill or restaurant setting
  • Solid knowledge of inventory and ordering systems and vendor management
  • Comfortable using a smartphone to take and send quality food photos
  • Food handler / ServSafe certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership, reliability, and attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience building specials or menu items from scratch
  • Familiarity with cost control and recipe costing
