Accounting Manager

Are you a highly skilled accounting professional with CPA designation, Big 4 audit experience, U.S. accounting exposure, and a strong background in manufacturing? We’re seeking an exceptional Accounting Manager to join a fast-paced manufacturing organization where precision, ownership, and expertise are critical to success. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, along with hands-on knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and audit rigor gained from a Big 4 firm. About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (including U.S. GAAP), and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization. This is a hands-on role that spans full-cycle accounting, payroll, inventory management, and financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Use QuickBooks to prepare and record assets, liabilities, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Monitor inventory and COGS status on a monthly basis
  • Produce monthly inventory control reports including inventory valuation, counts, BOM, WIP analysis, and COGS
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions; resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Produce accurate and timely accounting reports and present findings
  • Maintain the general ledger, prepare trial balances, and reconcile entries
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other key financial reports
  • Record monthly adjusting entries and manage intercompany transactions
  • Handle GST/HST, WSIB, and EHT reporting
  • Maintain organized and compliant financial documentation
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications (Must-Have Requirements)
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Big 4 audit experience (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing accounting experience (required)
  • Proven U.S. accounting experience (minimum 2+ years, full-cycle exposure required)
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management and costing
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and ERP systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close
