Job description

Ingersoll Cutting Tools is one of the world’s leading suppliers of metal cutting tooling systems and an integral member of the IMC Group of Companies, a distinguished corporate holding of Berkshire Hathaway, with over 130 subsidiaries in 60 countries around the world. Ingersoll’s US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for an Inventory Control and Customer Service Manager.
Essential job duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory control activities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor order processing, backlog management, and customer inquiries to maintain high service standards.
  • Resolve customer issues related to orders, shipments, returns, product availability, and delivery concerns.
  • Analyze inventory accuracy, back-orders, service levels, and other key operational performance metrics; identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to inventory control and customer service personnel.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and customer service processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness.
  • Supervise daily customer service operations to ensure timely, accurate, and professional support.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and at least three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in inventory control, logistics, customer service, or a related operational environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer focus.
  • Manufacturing or Industrial Distribution experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in supervising/leading a team is preferred.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work well independently, as well as with others, in a team environment. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess a good work ethic, demonstrate reliable and punctual work habits, demonstrate safety consciousness, and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
The Salary range for this position is $70-80K
