Job Summary:

The Business Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing our data systems and reporting frameworks, guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. As our Data Analyst, you'll help leadership make smarter business decisions by transforming operational data into meaningful insights that improve profitability, efficiency, customer service, and overall performance across our 15-location dealership network.

Job Duties:

Data Collection, Cleaning and Preparation

  • Collect and filter data across multiple business systems and locations, manage missing values, and prepare the dataset for analysis to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
  • Data curation of internal and external data.
  • Remove corrupted data and fix reporting errors.

Data Exploration and Analysis

  • Use statistical tools and techniques to explore and analyze data, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends.
  • Structure large data sets to find usable information.
  • Bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of operational information.

Data Visualization

  • Create visual representations of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data understandable at a glance.

Reporting

  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the insights and findings from the data to stakeholders, which can influence policy and decision-making processes.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that provide leadership with actionable insights into sales, service, parts, inventory, and financial performance.
  • Enhance analytical and reporting functions, as well as supervising performance and quality assurance processes, to pinpoint areas of enhancement.
  • Maintain existing reports to ensure correct data points are being measured as industry standards evolve.

Collaboration

  • Work with all departments to understand their business system and data needs to help them make informed decisions based on data insights.
  • Work with business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data, including internal and external data.
  • Establish KPI's to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or business administration or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and Problem-Solving Abilities.
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • 3-5 years' experience preferred in:
    • Data analytics or related field.
    • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
