About the role
The Senior Inventory Control Analyst will support the inventory control team in achieving and sustaining accurate inventory levels, including but not limited to ensuring transactions are recorded, analysis of variances, development of reconciliations and implementing Dyson and 3PL Warehouse action plans. The role will also be responsible for the mentoring and training of new and current team members. The ability to anticipate change and present ideas for continuous improvement in Dyson's every growing dynamic climate is crucial for success in this role.
This role requires regular onsite presence at our Chicago campus, 5 days per week.
Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily activities of Inventory Control. This includes guiding the Inventory Specialist on daily tasks and aiding Inventory Control Analyst with transaction management and data analysis.
  • Assist the Inventory Control Manager in analyzing returns to identify trends/issues, evaluate the data and develop reporting for management.
  • Lead the Inventory Control team in identifying variances to reporting trends/issues, evaluate the data and develop reporting for management.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, develop an action plan and implement with Dyson 3PLs
  • Support the month end close process relating to various inventory transactions
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with 3PL warehouses; effectively communicate to ensure processes are being followed and escalate to greater Supply Chain team when applicable
  • Collaborate cross functionally and create opportunities for continuous improvement within Dyson
  • Analyze and resolve any credit discrepancies by partnering with Inventory Control team and Accounts Receivable
  • Lead and participate in the annual physical inventory counts of 3PL warehouses
  • Prepare daily reconciliation reports of inventory balances between Dyson and 3rd party warehouses, when needed
  • Process various manual stock movements into Dyson's SAP inventory system such as kitting, retail refusals, re-pack adjustments and scrapping when needed
  • Relish the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role.

About you
  • Bachelor's degree required, Supply Chain or Operations Management major preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in a corporate environment with specific experience in inventory or supply chain strongly preferred.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in month end close required.
  • Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to dig into and dissect large amounts of data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Adaptable/flexible - able to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
