Job description

At DHL Supply Chain, inventory accuracy drives customer satisfaction and operational success. As an Inventory Control Coordinator, you'll play a key role in maintaining inventory integrity while developing valuable experience in inventory management, SAP, and supply chain operations. DHL Supply Chain is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Coordinator to maintain inventory accuracy within our warehouse operation. This role is responsible for inventory transactions, discrepancy resolution, cycle counts, audits, and ensuring inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to operational excellence.
Location: Westlake, LA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: Starting at $21.35 per hour
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within SAP
  • Research, identify, and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits
  • Reconcile system inventory to physical inventory
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate variances
  • Maintain inventory-related records and documentation
  • Partner with operations team members to resolve inventory issues and support warehouse efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control processes and procedures
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to learn SAP and customer inventory management systems
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, and perform warehouse-related tasks
Preferred: Experience in inventory control, warehouse administration, receiving, or logistics operations; Experience working with SAP or similar inventory management systems ; Knowledge of inventory reconciliation and inventory accuracy processes; Previous warehouse experience
Work Environment
  • Non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment
  • Combination of computer-based and warehouse-floor responsibilities
  • Regular interaction with inventory management systems and warehouse personnel
  • Fast-paced operation with a strong emphasis on inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction

Role Purpose:
Verify and reconcile inventories of the customer, their suppliers, and of DHL. Complete physical inventories and compile/analyze reports. Act as an interface between customer support, suppliers and customer management on inventory issues for resolution.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Reconcile and data entry into customer's system of record and the WM System.
  • Analyze data and transactions for root cause analysis using excel spreadsheets.
  • Monitor and key data for several in-transit buckets within SAP for finance department reporting.
  • Compile and maintain cycle count data for management reports to customer.
  • Monitor failed transactions and physically reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate between customer support, suppliers and customer on inventory issues for resolution.
  • Investigate any/all shrinkage of inventory and advise departmental manager.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years Warehousing experience; preferably with barcode system
  • Working experience with cycle count and inventory control
  • Knowledge of and experience with inventory systems and/or Topex
  • Working knowledge of SAP inventory
