Description:

Responsible for coordinating inventory control activities, packaging component availability, and label room operations in support of Ferndale Contract Manufacturing. Maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting, inventory analysis, transaction review, and reconciliation activities while ensuring packaging components and labeling materials are available to support production schedules. Utilizes Deacom ERP to process inventory transactions, coordinate intercompany transfers of packaging components, and support manufacturing operations. Responsible for the creation, revision, maintenance, issuance, and reconciliation of labels and printed materials used during manufacturing and packaging activities, including barcode labels, bundle labels, shipper labels, pallet labels, and other inventory identification labels utilizing BarTender software. Works closely with the Production Planning Coordinator and serves as a cross-trained backup for production planning, inventory control, and material coordination activities to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Maintains accurate label and insert inventory records through initial physical inventory count upon release, routine cycle counting, inventory audits, and transaction reconciliation.
  • Operates, calibrates and maintains the label and insert counting equipment in compliance with all standard operating procedures and safety precautions.
  • Investigates inventory discrepancies and implements corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Performs inventory transactions and reconciliation activities within Deacom ERP.
  • Works closely with the Production Planning Coordinator to support weekly production schedules and material readiness activities.
  • Ensures packaging components are available, released and properly staged to support manufacturing and packaging operations.
  • Coordinates intercompany transfers of packaging components from off-site warehouse locations to support the weekly production schedule.
  • Verifies counts of received labels, inserts, cartons, and printed packaging materials.
  • Issues packaging components, labels, and inserts for manufacturing and packaging operations.
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance the reconciliation of label and insert usage for production batches and ensures discrepancies are resolved and documented.
  • Creates, revises and maintains in-house generated labels such as bundle labels, shipper labels, pallet labels, and other inventory identification labels utilizing BarTender label design software.
  • Prints the required quantities of in-house generated labels and special labels as specified in the Packaging Batch Record. Routes labels for review and Quality Assurance release in advance of production needs.
  • Maintains organization, security, and cGMP compliance within the label room.
  • Processes inventory transactions, transfers, adjustments, and reconciliations within Deacom ERP.
  • Serves as backup support for the Production Planning Coordinator during absences and peak workload periods.
  • Creates logbooks used by Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering in support of cGMP activities such as equipment and room cleaning use logs and scale calibration logbooks.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles including cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, inventory transactions, and inventory accuracy management.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, material flow, and packaging operations within a cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience working within an ERP system; Deacom ERP experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory transaction processing, inventory adjustments, material transfers, and inventory reporting.
  • Knowledge of packaging components, labeling controls, and label issuance and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience utilizing BarTender label design software and barcode generation systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), packaging specifications, inventory reports, and production-related documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Shipping & Receiving, Procurement, and Planning personnel.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of optical counting equipment. Basic knowledge of label design and requirements for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • High School Diploma required. One to three years of experience in manufacturing, inventory control, warehouse operations, packaging operations, labeling operations, or a related field preferred.
