Summary

As a Purchasing Clerk, you’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring purchasing data is accurate, organized, and reliable. This role supports the integrity of our procurement processes, helping teams make informed decisions while maintaining high standards of accuracy, consistency, and accountability every step of the way.

Schedule:1st shift, 5:00am-4pm Monday-Saturday

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enter all receiving date relating to all direct materials.
  • Enter all receiving data relating to all indirect materials such as operating supplies, PPE, vaccines, etc. used.
  • Assist in all issues of direct materials to production.
  • Develop and prepare charts and graphs showing dollar amount usage by department of indirect operating supplies and PPE.
  • Develop and prepare charts and graphs showing dollar amount usage by department of direct materials.
  • Communicate daily with purchasing agents showing status of inventory and costs.
  • Manage and control all issues of indirect materials, operating supplies, PPT etc. to production.
  • Develop daily reports for purchasing agents showing status of inventory and costs.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout Tag Out procedure and Process Safety Management.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Strong reading, writing, math, communication and analytical skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficient in Data Entry, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to create charts, graphs, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1-2 years related experience preferred.
  • Working in accounts payable environment is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Work environment includes, but is not limited to, a normal office supply warehouse environment as well as moving and working on wet, moist, dry and greasy floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders. 
  • Exposures to all elements of the outdoor environment.
  • Exposure to temperature ranges of < 28 to 100 Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • Exposure to noise ranges to <50 db to >100 db.
  • Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angle, weights, height, intervals of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the task being performed.
  • Exposure to all chemicals found in a poultry processing operation.
  • Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job and various locations.
  • Required to travel to remote facilities and plants for meetings.
