Job description

Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver/Shop Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with experience driving a box truck and pulling a trailer. Warehouse experience and a basic understanding of mechanical systems is ideal, and a strong work ethic. The Delivery Driver/Shop Associate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by ensuring safe and fast delivery of materials to jobsites and assisting with inventory control, warehouse tasks, as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery & Logistics: Use a company shop truck and trailer to make timely deliveries of equipment and building materials to customer job sites and other locations. Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and according to schedule.
  • Safe Loading & Unloading of materials: Safely handle, load, and unload materials, ensuring proper placement and securement to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Warehouse Support: Assist with daily operations in the warehouse, including organizing inventory, stocking materials, and preparing orders for delivery.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records when needed, perform regular stock checks, and notify the manager of low stock or any discrepancies.
  • Construction/Mechanical Knowledge: Utilize basic knowledge of mechanical systems to properly handle and identify materials in the warehouse, ensuring items are stored and organized in an efficient manner.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment in the warehouse and during deliveries.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the shop manager, project managers, superintendents and other team members to ensure smooth warehouse and delivery operations.
  • General Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and warehouse areas.
Requirements:
  • Driving Experience: Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a clean driving record and be able to safely operate the company shop truck for deliveries.
  • Warehouse Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Systems: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and related equipment is a plus but not required. The willingness to learn is essential.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly in inventory management and delivery tasks.
  • Safety-Conscious: A commitment to following all safety guidelines and practices.
  • Team Player: Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
