Summary

Support the success of plant operations by ensuring the right parts, tools, lubricants, and consumable supplies are available when and where they are needed. As an Industrial Parts Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting maintenance and operations teams, coordinating with vendors, and helping keep equipment and production running efficiently. You will leverage your organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage inventory, track materials, and deliver excellent service to internal customers. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and enjoys making a direct impact on operational performance through accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

This position has a target wage of $17.50 - $26.50 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

In addition to hourly wages, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vison, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify packing slips against received materials, update the Maximo system, and report discrepancies to management.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate purchase requests to management to maintain required inventory levels.
  • Document all issues in the computerized inventory control system.
  • Generate usage reports for management as required.
  • Contact suppliers to expedite or order parts during non-regular business hours to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain files of purchase orders and packing slips to meet company requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the inventory system through random and scheduled cycle counts.
  • Assist other departments by holding stock and non-stock items for designated work orders or projects.
  • Work with Purchasing and Maintenance to evaluate materials and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work with Maintenance to continually identify opportunities to reduce inventory levels.
  • Pick up materials from local vendors as needed.
  • Inspect equipment as required.
  • Maintain general warehouse and office housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of standard software applications.
  • Follow and provide instructions effectively.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems, including Maximo.
  • Prepare reports and communicate information to management.
  • Communicate with vendors and shippers to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Move freely throughout the facility while carrying tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Work in humidity levels ranging from 0% to 100%.
  • Work in noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 100 dB.
  • Work around chemicals with Safety Data Sheets available.
  • Travel to vendors and other Perdue locations as needed.
  • Communicate by telephone and use standard office equipment.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Travel occasionally to other Perdue facilities as a backup for parts room operations.
