Inventory Specialist

Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist manages the tracking, storage, and movement of raw materials and active chemical ingredients. This role ensures perfect inventory accuracy to support uninterrupted agricultural chemical manufacturing while strictly adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Tracking: Perform daily cycle counts and full physical inventory audits of chemical raw materials.
  • System Management: Log all material movements, receipts, and allocations accurately in the ERP/WMS system.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate variances between physical stock and system records to find root causes.
  • Production Support: Stage and issue raw materials and chemical ingredients to the production floor on time.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain clear documentation for hazardous material storage in line with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Supplier Receiving: Inspect incoming raw material shipments for quantity, quality, and proper safety labeling.
  • Shelf-Life Monitoring: Track expiration dates on sensitive chemical ingredients to minimize product waste.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2–4 years of inventory control experience, preferably in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing plant.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP software (such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle) and barcode scanning systems.
  • Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) handling, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and OSHA regulations.
  • Physical Ability: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfortably operate a forklift or electric pallet jack.
  • Education: High school diploma required; an Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Chemistry is a plus.
