Job description

Job Title: Intermediate, Inventory Control (Level B) 

Job Code: 40965

Waterdown, Ontario

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Replenishment of Point of Use inventory using kanban methodology
  • Provide customer service at the Stores wicket including completion of inventory transactions
  • Daily report running, creation of manufacturing orders and production order picking
  • Support service team by fulfilling material requests and replenishing service dedicated inventory
  • Monitor and facilitate where possible, workflow and communication between Production Cells and other relevant departments
  • Responsible for supporting inventory cycle counts
  • Material handling and optimizing of inventory storage
  • Stock/process audits and variance investigation
  • Maintaining a high level of Inventory Accuracy

Required Skills and Knowledge 

  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP
  • Experience working with a perpetual computerized inventory management system
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines          
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative ability
  • Strong communications skills including building strong relationships with people at all levels
  • Be able to meet the physical demands-prolonged standing, occasionally climbing small ladders, carrying and lifting 15kgs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a particular strength using Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of management for controlled goods and material controlled under ITAR would be an asset
  • Commitment to change using a continuous improvement approach

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
