Job Objective

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with automotive parts and merchandise, processing sales transactions, stocking inventory, and helping maintain a clean, organized retail environment. The incumbent provides prompt and courteous service to all customers over the telephone, in the store, or in the dealer's shop. This person looks up the parts application in catalogs or POS system. The Retail Sales Associate processes orders for customers with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy. The incumbent assists and advises customers on how to best meet their needs and often deals with questions and problems of a highly technical nature. The incumbent exhibits a thorough knowledge of products, performance standards, warranties, sales programs, and operating policies. This person may also assist with local parts deliveries as business needs require.


Essential Tasks

  • Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and timely customer service
  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting automotive parts, accessories, tools, and related merchandise
  • Utilize available systems and resources to look up parts and determine appropriate products for customer needs
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process customer transactions
  • Answer customer questions and assist with orders in person and over the phone
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, pricing, and organizing inventory
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales and inventory areas
  • Help monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to store management
  • Participate in inventory counts and other inventory control activities
  • Safely Deliver automotive parts and supplies to customers, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries
  • Load and unload parts and merchandise for customers and deliveries as needed
  • Assist with opening and closing store procedures as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient store operations and a positive customer experience
  • Enforce and abide by all cooperative policies
  • Enforce and uphold the cooperative's credit policy
  • Good communication with all employees and customers
  • Check with other departments to see if help is needed before going home.ย ย
