Job Description:
L3Harris Broadband Communications is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will pick, pack, count, weigh, measure, and inventory materials to support our fast-paced operations. Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the receiving, storing, picking and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
  • May lift heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. (upon receipt of internal certification)
  • Remains stationery for extended periods of time
  • Checking the quality and condition of incoming materials before they are accepted into inventory
  • Keeping accurate records of inventory levels, organizing stock in the warehouse, and performing cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Storing materials in an organized manner within a warehouse or storage facility, ensuring that items are placed in the correct location for easy retrieval
  • Selecting and preparing materials for shipment or production, which includes picking the correct items, Verifying the quantity and packing them securely
  • Adhering to workplace safety standards and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Completing paperwork or digital records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management
  • Working with other team members and departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials through the supply chain
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by organizing work areas and disposing of waste properly
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies in shipments or inventory and reporting any issues to supervisors
  • Being available to work overtime, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to meet operational demands and ensure that all material handling tasks are completed within required timeframes

Qualifications:
  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

  • Identify issues and come up with practical solutions in a dynamic warehouse environment.
