Job Description

Your Responsibilities

At DI, the Material Handler is responsible for assisting with the efficient operation of the Warehouse under minimal supervision. This role is vital to the success of DI, as our Material Handlers ensure that our customers' orders are correct and undamaged.

  • Pick orders using an RF scanning gun.

  • Move product and material using a forklift or pallet jack.

  • Open containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.

  • Manually load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, shelves, or trucks and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

  • Convey materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or another device.

  • Ensure a clean work area and maintain machines and equipment using a broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.

  • Actively participate in periodic workplace safety learning sessions.

  • Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.

  • If operating a Company Vehicle, a valid driver's license will be required.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Forklift certification or willing to be certified.

  • RF scanning experience preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted to load and unload various products. Climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, and stand to perform daily work and ladder climbing, as needed.
