Position Summary

The Inventory Control supports the service and sales operations by managing the quotes, procurement, and distribution of pump parts and accessories. This role ensures timely availability of components for customer orders, field service work, and repair projects while maintaining accurate inventory records and strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities of the Inventory Control include, but are not limited to: 

Parts Management

  • Inventory Control Source, order, and track pump components, seals, bearings, motors, and related accessories from approved vendors.
  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality; resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Ensure parts are labeled, stored, and organized properly for quick access.
  • Coordinate delivery or shipment of parts to customers, field technicians, and branch locations.

Inventory Control 

  • Update and maintain inventory records in ERP or inventory management software.
  • Keep organized records, proposals, and manufacturer quotes.

Customer & Vendor Relations

  • Provide timely parts quotes, lead times, and availability information to customers and sales representatives.
  • Communicate order status updates, backorders, and shipping details to internal teams and customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service partners.
  • Support warranty claims, returns, and core exchanges with vendors.

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Assist sales, service technicians, and engineers in identifying correct part numbers using manuals, catalogs, or manufacturer resources.
  • Process purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices accurately.

Receiving 

  • Receive incoming shipments and verify items against purchase orders, packing slips, or other documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Communicate receiving issues to the appropriate team members for resolution.
  • Label, stock, and organize received inventory in designated storage areas.
  • Support accurate inventory records through proper documentation and system updates.
  • Assist with related inventory, stocking, and warehouse organization tasks as needed.

Qualifications of the Inventory Control include, but are not limited to 

 Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in parts coordination, inventory, or logistics—preferably in industrial distribution or pump equipment but not required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of pumps, mechanical seals, motors, valves, and fluid-handling equipment and/or the ability to learn mechanical
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., Epicor, SAP, NetSuite).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and parts diagrams.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency in your work and daily completion of tasks.
  • Able to adapt to change & work with different personalities.
  • Willing to learn new things & sometimes help with tasks out of job scope.

Additional Information:

  • Pay Range: $23-$27.50
  • Physical Demand: Frequent standing, walking, and occasional warehouse or field work. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and move parts or boxes as required
  • Working Conditions: Office and warehouse setting with regular interaction with service technicians, vendors, and customers.
