Job description

Our client, a major fishing and seafood processing company, is seeking an Office/Inventory Assistant for their New Bedford, MA facility to work cooperatively with all fishery department supervisors and administration and assist with a diverse array of office and inventory-related duties. This fast-paced position requires an individual who can multi-task and communicate effectively with both team members and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter orders into the system (NAV)
  • Keep running daily physical VAT inventory
  • Maintain consumption journal
  • Receive and post invoices to payables and credits to accounts receivable
  • Handle banking deposits
  • Enter sales handle labeling for all accounts
  • Post and send customer invoices
  • Operate the fishery telephone and internal communication system, screening and directing all incoming calls.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing/faxing of invoices/mail.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with visitors, co-workers and external colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have good communication skills and a pleasant speaking voice
  • Must possess neatness, accuracy, organization and attention to detail
