We're looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Title Clerk to join our growing dealership team. In this role, you'll be an essential part of our operations, ensuring vehicle titles, registrations, and ownership documents are processed accurately and efficiently while helping deliver an outstanding customer experience.

As our Title Clerk, you will:

  • Process title and registration paperwork for new and used vehicles in compliance with state DMV regulations.
  • Review and verify vehicle deal documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Submit ownership transfer documentation to the DMV in a timely manner.
  • Verify all funds have been collected and lienholders have been satisfied before processing title applications.
  • Review title applications to ensure all required information is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare payoff checks for vehicle purchases and trade-ins.
  • Bill dealer trades and prepare Manufacturer's Certificates of Origin (MCO/MSO).
  • Track and manage out-of-state title documentation.
  • Monitor outstanding title work and communicate any discrepancies or delays to management.
  • Provide monthly reports of outstanding titles to the Controller.
  • Prepare stock cards for new and used vehicle inventory.
  • Assist with annual dealer plate renewals.
  • Process Inter-Company (ICO) transactions.
  • Stay current on DMV regulations and industry best practices through ongoing training.
  • Cross-train team members and assist with training F&I and Sales staff on title requirements and updates.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and accurate records.
  • Assist with runner duties as needed.
  • Support the team with additional projects and responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous automotive title clerk experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dealership management software.
  • Strong analytical and basic math skills.
  • Notary Public designation is a plus.
  • Associate degree or technical school certification preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
  • 6–12 months of automotive title or dealership office experience preferred.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment.
