Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production continuity by ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and improving inventory processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Maintain accurate inventory in an ERP/MRP system
- Perform cycle counts and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure materials are available and properly staged
- Support kitting of jobs and projects
- Coordinate with production leads to meet schedule requirements
- Support Kanban and pull systems
- Apply 5S and lean manufacturing practices
- Improve inventory workflows and storage methods
- Assist with shipping, documentation, and inventory updates
- All other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
- 2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of inventory processes, cycle counting, and material flow
- Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on the production floor
Preferred
- Experience in welding, fabrication, or machining environments
- Familiarity with metals or steel materials
- Knowledge of material traceability
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in a small, hands-on production environment

Work Environment
