Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production continuity by ensuring material availability, maintaining inventory accuracy, and improving inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Maintain accurate inventory in an ERP/MRP system
  • Perform cycle counts and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure materials are available and properly staged
  • Support kitting of jobs and projects
  • Coordinate with production leads to meet schedule requirements
  • Support Kanban and pull systems
  • Apply 5S and lean manufacturing practices
  • Improve inventory workflows and storage methods
  • Assist with shipping, documentation, and inventory updates
  • All other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
  • 2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory processes, cycle counting, and material flow
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on the production floor
Preferred
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, or machining environments
  • Familiarity with metals or steel materials
  • Knowledge of material traceability
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in a small, hands-on production environment
