Job description

The Contractor shall identify a full-time Lead Windows Administrator to oversee endpoint management and IT workflows, ensuring a secure and seamless end-user experience. The Lead Windows Administrator will be responsible for leading patch management, software deployment, encryption, and automation activities.

  • The Lead Windows Administrator will be responsible for patch management. Ensure patches are thoroughly tested for functionality, compatibility, and potential conflicts with existing infrastructure and applications. Proactively monitor and address security vulnerabilities, working closely with security teams to mitigate risks.
  • The Lead Windows Administrator will be responsible for automation and workflow optimization related to device provisioning, patch management, encryption management, software deployment, and other IT workflows. Leverage scripting and automation tools, including PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM, and Intune to optimize desktop engineering processes.
  • The Lead Windows Administrator is required to be onsite at the Fairchild Building in downtown Washington, DC five (5) days per week.

The Lead Windows Administrator shall:

  • Have a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor
  • Possess CompTIA A+ certification, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or equivalent
  • Possess expert-level experience in Windows Workstation support, Windows workstation imaging, patch management, COTS and GOTS software deployment, encryption, and automation
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Active Directory architecture, design, and implementation
  • Possess a strong understanding of Windows Desktop and Server operating systems and associated technologies
  • Be proficient in PowerShell scripting for task automation and management
  • Possess strong experience with Group Policy management and troubleshooting
  • Possess strong knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security measures within Active Directory
  • Possess strong knowledge of backup and recovery solutions for Active Directory
  • Possess proven experience in Bios management, Bitlocker or Encryption at rest system management, Microsoft Administrative tools, M365 and Azure management and reporting systems, COTS application support, System Administration Support for Microsoft Enterprise management systems, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and Intune Entra AD.
