Job description

New Hope is a social services agency focused on individuals impacted by domestic violence. We are currently seeking a Group Facilitator for approximately 6-8 hours per week (evening and potentially weekend hours).

This role co-facilitates with our current female facilitator to meet DPH's co-facilitation requirement for male offender groups.

Scope of Work: Facilitates weekly group sessions for individuals who have used abusive behaviors in their intimate relationships. It is expected that the group facilitator’s job performance will incorporate the practice and promotion of New Hope’s core values, which include respect, teamwork, empowerment and professionalism.

Primary Duties:

  • Co-facilitates weekly groups for individuals who have used caused harm in their intimate relationships including physical, emotional and financial abuse.
  • Maintains current client information, including monthly updates, weekly attendance records, and the preparation of completion or termination reports.
  • Will attend weekly and monthly program supervisions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Senior Management.

General Duties:

  • Will attend quarterly All-agency meetings and other meetings as requested by Program Director.
  • Will conduct themselves according to the agency’s stated policies and procedures
  • Will comply with the Agency’s confidentiality policy.
  • Participate in SANE back-up on call to provide medical advocacy support for survivors of sexual assault at the hospital

Skills and Abilities:

  • Facilitation skills, with knowledge of domestic violence issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with sensitivity.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, dependable.
  • Effective time management.
  • Good leadership skills, including team building and decision-making ability
  • Demonstrates maturity, self-awareness and initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed reports and maintain up-to-date records
  • Flexibility of time/scheduling to accommodate evening hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation

Education amp; Experience:

  • BS, Social Work or related human services field or related work experience preferred.
  • Counseling and/or group facilitation experience preferred.
  • Completion of state-certified batterer’s intervention training (3-day program)
  • Intimate Partner Abuse Education experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence issues.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese-English) a plus.
