Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary:

The Interventional Technologist I assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases without surgery. This role is ideal for individuals gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or experienced imaging professionals seeking to transition into this discipline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Understanding of anatomy and physiology related to specialty imaging procedures.
  • Ability to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
  • Consistent application of sterile field practices to ensure patient safety.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide age-appropriate care to diverse patient populations.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
  • Dependability and punctuality in reporting to work.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Accuracy in maintaining records and working with names, numbers, and codes.

Required Education:

  • Graduate of a post-secondary educational program in health science (e.g., cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT) as defined by ARRT or CCI.
  • Completion of JRCERT-accredited Military Educational Program accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ARRT(RT), RCES, or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
