Job Summary

The Supply Chain Services Operations Manager reviews costs for Surgical Services, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiovascular Care at Baylor Scott & White Health. They identify, evaluate, and implement actions to reduce costs. The manager plays a key role in value data teams to cut supply costs. They demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to leadership. The manager collaborates with other service line and supply chain leaders to find and implement efficiencies and savings.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Supervises SCS staff as assigned by Corporate Operations senior leadership.
  • Responsible for supervising, coordinating, and implementing inventory control processes in Surgical Services, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiovascular Care at Baylor Scott & White Health.
  • Serves as liaison between Supply Chain Services, Surgical Services, Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular Care, and Central Processing. Ensures effective and efficient management of supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Responsibilities include managing processes and personnel for materials acquisition, receiving, distribution, and coordinating PAR levels for Surgical Services, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiovascular Care.
  • Ensures standardization of processes based on SCS best practices to maximize efficiencies of SCS as a whole.
  • Manage or participate on project teams as assigned; coordinate team activities, develop and implement project plans.
  • Develop reports and associated materials to update project status.
  • Evaluates and resolves all necessary SCS reports such as Open Receiving, Invoice Discrepancy and MM280.
  • Provides exceptional leadership role in semi-annual system-wide physical inventory.
  • Facilitates system-wide product and service agreement conversions.
  • Ensures the focus remains on enhancing patient care cost-effectively by using contracted supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and assist field operations as needed.
  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
Key Success Factors
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification, like Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) or Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), is preferred.
  • Proven skills in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Supply Chain ERP.
  • Proven written communication and report/presentation design skills.
