Job Description
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for assisting in the performance of complex specialized tasks using fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This role ensures the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the interventional labs.
Responsibilities
  • Perform circulating and scrubbing roles during procedures.
  • Provide patient teaching and assist with patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Manage inventory and coordinate schedules.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the Core Values and competencies of the organization.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Adapt assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
  • Complete examinations/procedures to assist in patient throughput.
  • Maintain and ensure correct scanning and storage of completed exams in PACS.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in special procedures or Interventional Radiology required.
  • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification by ARRT is required.
  • Current state licensure required (Texas: MRT by TMB).
  • BLS certification required (AHA only); ACLS preferred.
