What is an Intersystems Cache?
An Intersystems Cache job typically involves working with the InterSystems Cache database, a high-performance object database used in healthcare, financial services, and other industries. Professionals in this role develop, maintain, and optimize Cache-based applications using ObjectScript, SQL, and other technologies. Responsibilities may also include database administration, performance tuning, and integration with other systems. Experience with HL7, FHIR, and healthcare applications like Epic or TrakCare can be beneficial.
What does an Intersystems Cache do?
A typical day for an InterSystems Caché professional involves designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions, writing routines and queries in ObjectScript or SQL, and troubleshooting performance or integration issues. You may also interface with clinical or business end-users, analyze requirements, participate in agile development meetings, and collaborate with team members like application developers, analysts, and system administrators. Often, the role requires adapting existing systems to meet new regulatory or organizational needs, ensuring high data integrity and system uptime. This fast-paced environment is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy solving complex technical problems and working with cross-functional teams.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Intersystems Cache position, and why are they important?
