Job description

Job Title: Warehouse/Parts Counter Associate
Company: Interstate Power Systems
Location: Iron Mountain
Interstate Power Systems is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Warehouse / Parts Counter Associate to join our Iron Mountain, Michigan location. This hybrid role is split approximately 50% Warehouse and 50% Parts Counter, supporting both internal technicians and external customers. The ideal candidate enjoys a hands-on environment, values accuracy, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Duties (Approx. 50%)
  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts and inventory
  • Pick, pack, and stage parts for work orders and customer pickups
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and organization
  • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling using forklifts or other equipment

Parts Counter Duties (Approx. 50%)
  • Assist technicians and customers at the parts counter
  • Identify, research, and recommend correct parts for heavy-duty equipment and trucks
  • Enter part sales, returns, and work orders accurately into the system
  • Communicate clearly with customers, service advisors, and technicians
  • Support inventory control by reporting shortages or discrepancies

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, parts department, or customer service role preferred
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty truck or equipment parts is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills: experience with parts or inventory systems preferred
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work on your feet throughout the day
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependability
