Purpose of Job:

The Sales Associate provides fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. This role maintains the condition of the sales floor, ensuring that it is clean and shoppable. They will also make deliveries and test/install car batteries.

Job Components:

  • Provide exceptional, friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail environment

  • Greet every customer with a positive attitude & smile

  • Engage customers to understand their needs using open-ended questions

  • Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently assist and advise customers

  • Promote special offers, and current sales to enhance the customer experience

  • Explain product features and benefits in a clear and helpful way

  • Drive sales by recommending "good, better, best" options and related add-on items

  • Meet or exceed individual sales goals and performance expectations

  • Accurately process transactions and handle cash and card payments via a Point of Sale System

  • Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise

  • Keep the store clean, well-stocked, and easy to shop

  • Perform basic battery testing and installation, including automotive batteries

  • Complete local deliveries using a company vehicle, as needed

  • Ability to lift and carry items (typically 25-50 lbs)

  • Comfortable working in a retail and stockroom environment

  • Team-oriented environment with individual performance expectations

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not required)

  • Previous delivery driving experience is preferred

  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record are required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions

  • Valid driver's license (if deliveries are required)

  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check

  • Regular attendance is required

  • Ability to work Saturdays and some holidays

Scope Data:

  • Interacts professionally with fellow Team Members

Work Environment:

  • Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.

  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs

  • Work involves some irregularities and difficulties with repetitive and varied tasks.

  • Primarily retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid as is normal to warehouse environment in this business

  • Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.
