PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

The driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. A reliable driver needs to transport items in a safe, timely manner, in conjunction with the customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading, transporting, delivering and unloading items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner
  • Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Collecting payments for delivered items as needed
  • Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A good history of DMV/MVR record
  • Possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the class of vehicle
  • Experienced driving in winter and mountain environments, including snowy conditions
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
  • Strong time management and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to use forklift or pallet jack to move the pallets and/or products
  • Successfully pass background checks including criminal history and drug screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Successfully pass physical exam
  • Successfully passing the Human Performance Evaluation on Lift, Lift-Carry, Push-Pull, Climb, and Repetitive Posture.
  • The employee must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
  • Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs
  • Repetitive hand use is required, including pushing and pulling up to 50lbs, reaching above shoulder
  • Frequent bending and squatting are required
  • The employee must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
  • Must be able to drive at any time of day, including both daylight and nighttime hours.

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • Proven box truck or at least 24 ft- long truck driving experience.
