What are the main challenges faced by professionals working in Interoperability roles?

Professionals in Interoperability roles often encounter challenges related to aligning disparate systems, managing data standards, and ensuring secure and accurate information exchange across platforms. They must troubleshoot issues caused by variations in data formats or inconsistent implementation of protocols, all while collaborating closely with IT, clinical, and vendor teams. Effective communication and a strong understanding of both technical requirements and organizational workflows are essential for resolving these challenges. Overcoming these obstacles is vital to support seamless data flows, which greatly enhances patient care and operational efficiency.

What is an Interoperability job?

An Interoperability job focuses on ensuring that different systems, applications, or devices can communicate and work together seamlessly. Professionals in this field develop and implement standards, protocols, and integration strategies to enable data exchange across platforms. They often work in industries like healthcare, IT, and finance, where system connectivity is critical. Their responsibilities may include API management, data mapping, and troubleshooting integration issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Interoperability position, and why are they important?

To excel in an Interoperability role, you need expertise in data integration, healthcare information exchange standards (such as HL7, FHIR, or EDI), and project management, often backed by a degree in health informatics, computer science, or related fields. Familiarity with integration engines (like Mirth Connect or Cloverleaf), APIs, data mapping tools, and relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst, HL7 certification) is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are important soft skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and addressing connectivity challenges. These skills are crucial to ensure seamless data exchange and system compatibility within complex healthcare or enterprise environments.

  • Do you want to work on the systems that are the heart of Stellantis?

We are seeking a proactive and skilled business analyst/project manager to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring business continuity by transforming the ICT ecosystem to manage parts and engineering Bill of Materials (BOM).
As a BOM and Engineering Parts specialist, you will define and execute a strategic vision within a highly integrated and complex engineering tool landscape comprising both legacy and modern platforms. Key Responsibilities:
The Bill of Materials (BOM) Management ecosystem ensures the accuracy, consistency, and communication of structured data related to vehicles, components, subassemblies, and raw materials across all manufacturing operations within Stellantis. By integrating regional systems with global processes, the BOM ecosystem enables seamless engineering and production activities across all Stellantis regions.
In this position, you will serve as an ICT specialist for the BOM Management ecosystem, driving the transformation and standardization of BOM systems to support improved business efficiency, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, engineering teams, and supply chain experts, to understand BOM-related business requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Design innovative and robust ICT solutions for BOM management that align with enterprise goals, emphasizing scalability, data accuracy, integration, and performance.
  • Lead and oversee the execution of multiple BOM-related projects, ensuring alignment with quality, timeline, and budget expectations. Track and communicate project progress to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, system documentation, and governance standards for BOM solutions. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance policies.
  • Deliver regular updates and status reports to key stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive and current program documentation to support transparency and alignment across teams.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for BOM management systems, including incident and problem resolution, change and release coordination, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaboration with support teams and vendors to ensure system stability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an ICT Solution Architect, Business Analyst, Subject Matter Expert, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), PLM, Change, and Release processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
